Spring is here – update your ePortfolio…and don’t forget!

If you’re reading this soon after publication, no doubt you’ll have banished the January blues and you’re anticipating the new season with relish. And that’s exactly what Spring represents: rebirth and all things new.

As a model, you don’t have to completely change your look to embrace Spring. If you’re happy with your image, that’s sufficient. We’ll never encourage anyone to transform their looks on a whim, as looks are personal and can define an individual. However, Spring could be a good time to try any of the following:

  1. Change your wardrobe. The phrase “Out with the old and in with the new” is never truer when it comes to clothing. Charity shops are always keen to have old clobber, and there are various websites on which you can trade in tired-looking clothing for a few quid.
  1. Take up a new hobby. As the weather settles down, Spring is a superb time to think about adopting a new summer sport or to join the thousands of clubs / societies out there.
  2. Be bolder with holiday / travel plans. Are you tired of visiting the same destinations? If so, roll the proverbial dice and be prepared to venture to more unfamiliar places. You never know – you could end up in the destination of your dreams.

One important feature of modelling should be done every few weeks or so. It’s not really a feature, more of a model’s responsibility. It could make or break a model’s career, and it’s often the decisive factor when clients come to choosing their preferred models.

Yes, we’re talking about updating your ePortfolios.

And if you haven’t done this lately, you’re not giving yourself the best chance of being chosen for hundreds of excellent modelling assignments. Maybe Spring is the ideal time to refresh your ePortfolios. After all, we always have plenty of summer modelling jobs available for the right models, and we’re not shy about sharing modelling tips to give models an extra edge.

Why not be proactive and keep your ePortfolios as fresh as you can in Spring? Yes, we have top quality jobs all year round – and it’s good practice to dip into portfolios every month or so anyway – but if you’re looking for the best commercial modelling jobs during the summer, you won’t need to cram everything in at the last minute if your portfolio is initially in fairly good shape. It’s called organisation, and it’s something models should have in spades.
