Commercial modelling is an open and welcoming path into the modelling industry. How do we know this? Because Models Direct has been helping our models and clients fix dates to meet and make modelling campaigns happen. It’s real, it’s trusted, and it’s proven to work for the past 35 years.
Commercial modelling is unlike the seriously competitive avenue models often wish to take, which is no doubt editorial high-end modelling. Its nature is more welcoming, open, and probably kinder for everyone interested in becoming a model.
There are no restrictions on factors such as:
Height
Weight
Body shape
Age
Ethnicity
Disability
Skin health
If you’re considering this modelling niche, you’ve landed at the best spot to help accelerate your chances and opportunities to excel. With Models Direct, you can apply and leave the rest to us. You don’t need to worry about sourcing clients, ensuring that they are fully vetted, securing assignments, negotiating a price, and making sure that the clients have given you the best, safest, and most reliable experience possible.

Practise expressions and poses
A great way to practice to become a commercial model is to get in front of a mirror or your phone and try out different poses and expressions. If you’re unsure, you can take a look at our blog for our recommendations. You can also have a look at TV commercials, ads in magazines, or print or digital material for inspiration.

We’re positive that you’ll enjoy being part of our modelling family. Our modelling knowledge, mixed with first-hand experience of over 30 years, is hopefully enough for you to feel confident in us and our ability to help you land commercial modelling gigs.
For extra reassurance, we’ve added real-life examples of our models and their recount of their commercial modelling life with us.
Michael ( BXGM-7944) was booked with the UK’s best network, EE. His parent left us this review:
“Our teenage son recently had his first commercial photo and video shoot at the client’s location, and the experience was incredibly positive from start to finish. The pre-shoot communication with Charlie from MD was both professional and friendly, even though everything came together on rather short notice, which is likely quite common in this industry.

On the day, the team on set was welcoming, kind, and gave clear instructions that really helped him feel confident and at ease, especially as it was his first time in this kind of environment. We truly appreciate how smoothly everything was handled and how supported he felt throughout the process. Thank you for such a great introduction to the world of commercial work!”
WinterWorks Entertainment, the UK’s high-end luxury entertainment group, had Mohammed (MRBZ-8693) on board as their commercial model. He was happy to share his recount with us for the benefit of our readers.
“Great experience for my first shoot! The team was very friendly and welcoming, didn’t feel like work whatsoever!
Charlie from Models Direct was extremely helpful and provided great support from the very beginning. I highly recommend it for anyone thinking of going into commercial modelling.”
Stuart (FBDT-8679) was another commercial male model who got to have a great time on set with the UK’s leading pub retailer and brewery. He left us with this great feedback:
“A sunny day out at the pub! I was lucky enough to do my first assignment recently, after being invited to take part in a commercial shoot for Greene King Brewery.

Gemma from Models Direct was very attentive with the email and telephone contact leading up to the shoot, and I felt I was in good hands.
On the day I met 15 other models on location who became instant friends – from all different walks of life, all with the same goal, and each of them lovely to chat with and share the experience.
The production crew on set was great, very friendly, and easy to work with. I was involved in a short video scene and also captured as an extra in another scene. Gemma called me post shoot to see how I had got on as well.
I hope this will be a stepping stone to further work, and I’m happy to say I feel confident to take on anything I’m required to do going forward.”
Round up
Regardless of who you are, your abilities, and previous modelling experience, commercial modelling could be for you if you want to be yourself and bring your authentic self to the world of modelling. It has a more relaxed vibe and doesn’t have high expectations of appearances. It’s embracing and confidence-building building so if you’d like to pursue a career in it, let Models Direct know!
