Making your look more versatile

If variety is the spice of life, versatility can be a model’s best asset.

Being a model can have many advantages, including freedom of employment, exciting working environments and regular or part-time pay (paid within five days and very useful it is, too, thank you!) But surely a range of assignments ranks highly with models, as our clients continue to seek out gifted individuals for an increasing number of diverse roles.

Because we are the UK’s no.1 modelling agency, we have the largest collection of clients who are looking for models for all sorts of jobs throughout the country. Therefore, it stands to reason that models find it advantageous to upload photos to their ePortfolios depicting themselves in potential modelling roles so we and our clients don’t have to guess what they’d look like in those positions. There’s nothing like cutting straight to the chase!

So we encourage models to have a glance at our latest openings to give them an idea of what is currently out there.

Have a quick peek here to give you a flavour of the jobs that need to be filled: https://www.modelsdirect.com/search/jobs/

Wouldn’t it be great if you saw a position for a skincare model and you took the best images of your complexion in anticipation of being put forward for that opening? That’d be proactive, and something that won’t go unnoticed for future assignments.

ePortfolios containing different looks of models leave nothing to the imagination, because everyone can see your potential! Examples can include:
• Models in gym gear for fitness campaigns.

• Male models wearing suits to illustrate their potential in a business setting. Female models shouldn’t forget that this look could work for them as well!

• Models could dress up in evening wear for a more glamorous yet tasteful look.

• Specific occupations. Models could borrow, buy or utilise their own outfits to emphasise how well they’d work in particular modelling situations. How about male models jazzing up their ePortfolios with a few images of themselves as plumbers or builders? Be creative, and don’t oppose any ideas – after all, a well-taken photo showing off your talents and looks can only be a good thing, so make sure your ePortfolios are loaded with a good variety of looks. • How about specific photos of your hair, legs or hands? Sounds pretty exclusive, doesn’t it? But you’d be surprised how many times our clients request exactly those particulars! Take a look here: https://www.modelsdirect.co.uk/let-your-hair-do-the-talking/

Experiment with colours, shades and definitions, but whatever you do, don’t just be satisfied with a couple of generic headshot photos! You’re better than that!

It’s worth noting that for an initial application, we simply need two clear, defined headshots. But an ePortfolio is a model’s chance to experiment and improve. All facial shots still need to be clear-cut, but your actual looks can be more versatile to really stand out. Be daring, be resourceful…just BE GREAT!
