Just as the weather changes with each season, models should evolve accordingly.

Everyone has their favourite season – although, to be fair, the UK’s climate is one that can go from different extremes from year to year, so it’s sometimes difficult to predict what kind of weather we’ll be enjoying as we head towards the (usually) warmer climes.
That said, let’s stay positive and assume 2025 will present gloriously sunny weather. You may have to fight the crowds when getting out and about, but it’s a small price to pay for indulging in activities that models should take advantage of.
Why Good Weather Boosts Your Modelling Potential
Sunny days don’t just lift your mood—they can transform your modelling career. Outdoor photoshoots in good weather are a must for any model looking to refresh their portfolio and attract new bookings. Here are some pointers to remember when the weather turns for the better:
1. Most of us can make the majority of vitamin D we need from natural sunlight – The NHS advises that most people can make sufficient vitamin D from natural sunlight between April and September. Vitamin D is essential for phosphate and calcium, which in turn is required for healthy bones, muscle and teeth. It is also good for healthy looking skin, although too much sunshine can cause skin irritations like swelling and blisters.
2. When the sun hits skin, the brain triggers a release of serotonin – a hormone associated with boosting mood and helping people feel calm and focused. Perfect for models!
3. Better weather means longer days, therefore an opportunity for an increase in productivity. So, there are no excuses for not reading our informative blogs, studying our list of clients and refreshing your summer portfolios with stunning reels and images.
4. Many people generally feel more relaxed. They look forward to outdoor eating and drinking, and a plethora of summer sports to watch and play. Does it tempt you to become one of our sport / fitness models? Outdoor photoshoots thrive in natural light, and models know summer is peak season for vibrant portfolio shots.

5. Holidays. Not everyone can travel abroad to even warmer climes, or spend a long weekend in the UK. However, millions of us plan our summer holidays, and they are eagerly anticipated as soon as the New Year comes around.
