Getting Ready for the Big Day, Bridegrooms?

It’s wedding season, the invites are coming in thick and fast and we’re getting ready to see our loved ones and friends declare their love for each other. Most brides dream about their big day – their dress, hair, makeup, guest list, playlist, food…gosh, there’s a lot to think about! We totally love a fairytale wedding! Bridegrooms might go about their preps slightly differently but this doesn’t mean that they won’t want to look great on the day they become half of a married couple. So gents, pay close attention to how to look and feel exceptional on your big day!

Step 1: Pre-wedding skincare
Please don’t leave this tip to the last minute! Building good pre-wedding skincare takes time. After all, you’ll want your skin to look amazing in your wedding photos, give yourself space to see which products work best for hydration, glow and even anti-ageing (not that we’re suggesting you’ve got deep lines!) You may already have skincare heroes sitting on your cabinet, or you might still be looking around for what best suits you. Take your time as you don’t want to make expensive mistakes! Read reviews to gain insight into other people’s experiences.

Step 2: A beard like you’ve just stepped out of the barber
If you’re sporting a beard (novice or pro – no bother), you’ll want yours looking like a million dollars on your wedding, fresh out of the barbers. The easy way to achieve this – head on over to your barbers! But, if you’ve got that extra sensitive side to your skin, you might need a couple of days for some time out – time for it to cool and calm down. What can you do to help? Use a sensitive shaving foam, cooling gel and balm to soothe the rawness. Don’t be tempted to irritate it by applying too many products though! Remember less is more…

Step 3: Beat the sweat & exude a memorable fragrance
Unlike your bride (and if you’re going down the traditional attire route) you’ll probably be layered up. We’re sure you’ll remove apparel as the day’s events unfold but it will probably get hot under the tuxedo. Even a cool cat would feel the sweat so put your trust in a super-powered
antiperspirant and don’t forget to keep it handy during the day. Sprintz yourself with your fav fragrance too!

Step 4: Be prepared
We know that time can be tight – you’ve worked around your own schedule, and suddenly, everyone else’s too! But try to be as prepared as possible. Set up your week ahead so that you know what’s the plan of action, what needs to be done and what has got done! Write it down or store it using some of the nifty smartphone apps out there. Be a master of your time, not a chaser.

No matter how demanding your day gets, we hope that these short and sweet tips prove helpful! Let us know too! If any Model Direct male models are reading this, these tips can be applied for any assignments you’ve been booked for – particularly wedding-oriented work!
