Summer Modelling Success Tips

Spring is a fantastic time of the year where models can experiment with new fashions. Landscapes change and flowers are in bloom, and the weather improves. It’s understandably a favourite season with millions.

Make the Most of Summer as a Model

But summer is arguably the preferred season. At the time of writing, Storm Eowyn has dissipated to a few howls of wind, though at its peak it raged the northern part of the UK, wreaking havoc we haven’t seen in a decade. As you read this, we can put the long winter behind us and concentrate on summer.     

UK summers are rarely day-to-day sunshine – you’d be naïve to think this will be the case. But the UK summer months can offer plenty of opportunities for both experienced and new models, so our advice is to make the most of it.

Of course, more favourable weather is a huge benefit to many. Longer daylight hours means that productivity usually increases. For models, summer allows them to get snapping away and make reels to increase their chances of being put forward by us to the all-important clients, who always have the final say with model selection.

So, what can models do this summer to help them secure more work? Here’s our list of useful tips to give models even more optimism:

1. Stick to a regular time to wake up. It’s easy to linger in bed in the winter months – and we certainly don’t begrudge anyone for hitting the snooze button – although rising in the mornings at the same time is beneficial for mental wellbeing and general happiness; in the long run, your body will thank you. By sticking to a consistent time to spring into action in the mornings, you’ll have more energy and more desire to achieve daily goals. Don’t let the summer pass you by!

2. Be active. Jobs don’t land in model’s laps. Models must regularly look for ways to improve their chances of being recommended to our clients such as researching other jobs other work we’ve co-ordinated and keeping out for the latest news and trends. The summer affords all models the chance to get outside and experiment, and because our clients need to know what our model’s appearance is at the time of the booking, there’s no excuse to make use of the brightest season to dazzle them.

4. Tailor your photos and reels with summery fashions. Go for bright greens, pale blues and creamy whites.

5. If you pass a tourist attraction or any natural beauty such as a lush meadow or stunning beach, grab the opportunity with both hands and make use of the scenery for the perfect summer snaps.
