When you get feedback like this:
“I had such a great time shooting the new commercial for Deliveroo, everyone was so friendly and the food was out of this world!! Met some really amazing people, can’t wait for the next one x” – Charlotte Mackie.

You know that it’s not an unrealistic dream to star in a commercial or photoshoot. Our Models Direct talent is called for all types of modelling work including these two popular types of work.
So, where would you begin? Let’s take a look and explore these possibilities in this blog!
Go solo or get represented
You could either opt for doing it by yourself – as a female or male adult model or for your baby, child or pet model. This means reaching out and networking with brands and companies showcasing your modelling skills and abilities, and basically getting booked when they need you. Alternatively, you could choose to be represented by a modelling agency (like us!) where we would find work for you with trusted businesses and ensure you get paid a fee that’s been negotiated beforehand.
Keep your portfolio alive
We know, as a modelling agency that’s been in the biz for some time that keeping a portfolio up to date can feel like a bit of a burden. Yup, there it is! We’ve said it how you might be thinking. Don’t worry though, we do get it. As if there isn’t enough to do already, right, let alone keeping a fresh portfolio!
But, a portfolio is important. It benefits agencies and clients so that they can understand who you are. To be honest, it’s there for you too. It can help you be aware of your individuality, uniqueness and style but it takes time and dedication to craft.

Be ready
When you’ve got an agency like ours representing you, you’ll need to be ready for that call which could literally happen at any point to get you booked for a gig, and it could be for that dream commercial or photoshoot job.
We’ve seen our male and female models get booked pretty fast after completing their registration with us. Here are a couple of examples:
Our male model, Jeremiah, was booked for a job with Inspo Trust only a few weeks after being registered with MD. His mum expressed:
“I registered my son Jeremiah with Models Direct in April 2023, his profile went live in May 2023 and his first photoshoot yesterday was an amazing experience. The booking process was seamless which is brilliant. We had all the information we required for the shoot delivered to us promptly. The client, the photographer and the whole team were fabulous and kind. Charlie, our contact at the agency is very professional, and a great listener, she has a very positive attitude and provides exceptional customer service and care. I am delighted to have chosen Models Direct to support my son’s modelling and acting career, and I look forward to many more successful collaborations with this top-quality agency. They are very organised and reliable. I highly recommend Models Direct to anyone seeking excellent services in the modelling and acting industry.”
Tyler Winchcombe was booked with HardHats and here’s what he had to say:
“2 events with models direct in 1 week!? Dayyummm! Must be doing something right! Again had a great shoot and met some lovely people! Can’t wait for my next assignment!”
Great examples of our models being booked super fast as new and existing talent!
Stay positive

When a model lands a gig, it’s because the client has been satisfied with their look so ultimately, the final decision rests with the brand or company. It might feel like a lifetime waiting for that commercial or photoshoot call but we’re positive it will happen!
The duration can vary from model to model, some being a couple of weeks (as mentioned above) or some taking a lot longer. Sometimes the booking isn’t always appealing or possible where the model has the right to decline but staying positive throughout the process and having a good mindset, that it will happen when the right is time, is a helpful and healthy approach to have.
And there you have it, readers. The process of getting booked for a commercial or photo shoot is possible and certainly more seamless with the right agency backing you. If you want to make this happen, get in touch with our team!
