The Summer weather is finally here, that means one thing…..location shoots!!
Assignments tend to have a trend depending on season and weather, the weather plays a big part for a client when planning an assignment and of course in the UK it can be very unpredictable.
Models Direct is an international agency, a large majority of our work is UK based however we do have clients located all over the world.
The Summer months allow clients to book models for outdoor shoots and many outdoor promotional events and shows take place at this time of year too. Models Direct represent photographic models and also promotional models, so it can be a very busy time of year for us!
Models are always delighted if they are selected for a shoot in a super lovely location, nothing better than getting paid to work in beautiful surroundings in the sunshine, beats the rain and cold any day!
The warm weather gives the client more flexibility with shoot locations and they will quite often do a mixture of studio images and then venture outdoors to get some location shots, which tend to have more of a relaxed and natural look to them. If the client is promoting a venue or a particular service, then using the outdoors as a backdrop can be a lot more effective and create a different feel.
Alot of swimwear/beachwear shoots take place over the Summer, the UK has some incredible beaches and so our models are very happy to spend the day being photographed in the latest swimwear on sandy shores.
Models Direct also supply commercial models for several holiday companies for their marketing material, these types of clients require ‘model families’ or ‘model couples’ to pose as holiday makers in the surroundings of the hotel or resort, this is always a lovely type of job to be selected for and models tend to get a few perks thrown in too!!
It’s a perfect time of year for events and exhibitions to take place too and clients require promotional staff to assist them in promoting their product or service. Models Direct have promotional staff on the books all over the UK who have a wealth of experince in working face to face with potential customers, confident in speaking with members of the public and great at making guests feel welcome, it’s quite a skill!
The seasons really do make a difference to the type of work models are selected for, so to increase your chances of being selected make sure your pictures are seasonal and up to date, don’t be wrapped up in your winter woollies, it’s not the look this Summer!!
