Sport & Fitness for Children: Modelling Activewear with Models Direct

Children enjoy playing and being active. They love sports and activities such as football, swimming, gymnastics, dance, tennis and so on. So, what better way for them to feel comfortable than to wear activewear that is now trending online and offline featuring the likes of Nike, Adidas, and Converse. From essentials such as trainers, joggers, sweat tops, leggings and swimsuits, sporty collections for girls and boys are now widely available.

The benefits of physical activity for children

As children are jumping into comfortable sportswear apparel, it might be worth a thought who the children are behind the photos you see. They’re mini models who are being snapped for photoshoots, promotional work and perhaps even live events to showcase a product or service – in this case, sportswear.

Physical activity is important and should be a part of children’s daily routine. It is not only fun but also healthy, benefitting children in so many ways. Encouraging children to be active when they are young could also establish a life-long positive habit.

Now that we’re on the topic of sportswear and being active, we’ll explore some advantages that children can experience when exercising. They are as follows:

  • Improve cardiovascular fitness great for maintaining a healthy heart and lungs
  • Maintain a healthy weight
  • Increase confidence and self-esteem
  • Better sleep patterns
  • Improve concentration
  • Increase flexibility
  • Opportunities to make friends and enhance social skills

You might have heard or read about how much physical activity children need – at least 60 minutes every day – but did you know that if you introduce exercise early in your child’s life, you could nourish and enrich them with a good habit to take care of their health and bodies? No? Better get started, and we’ve got some suggestions to help:

Indulge your child’s interest in exercising; join in with them to give a sense of togetherness and teamwork.

Sometimes we overlook simple skills but showing your youngster how to jump, skip or throw a ball is a great way to introduce physical activity.

Keep on moving! Whenever and wherever you’re able to, encourage movement. Whether it’s picking up the pace when walking around the house, doing squats whilst hanging out the laundry or carrying a couple of water bottles when going up and down the stairs, show your child that exercise doesn’t have to be a scheduled activity. You can be active on the go making it feel more spontaneous and flexible!

Grab a timer and see who can complete house chores the quickest! (Be careful of bumps and collisions though!) Who can fold the laundry away (and neatly of course)? Who can load and unload the washing machine the fastest? Sometimes – when there aren’t any dishes involved – house chores can become a fun activity rather than a tedious task!
