With so much news available at the press of a button, it’s sometimes hard to decipher the facts from fiction.
Whether readers choose to believe news is their prerogative. But how do you know if it’s true?
Writing fiction is an art, relying on the compelling imagination of the author to engross readers. Copywriting is different from writing fiction novels in that it usually involves producing content with a business or marketing slant, increasing brand awareness to sell products or services. Enter our website…
Our website aims to give models the facts about how we conduct business, what our models have accomplished and what they can achieve in the future. The content is derived from our experience, and what we think models will find useful. There’s no superfluous content – just copywriting that reflects the commercial modelling industry. Our blogs offer advice as well as giving readers the lowdown on exciting modelling jobs our models have been selected for, offering a flavour of the jobs any of our registered models can expect.
Our website can be considered the first port of call for budding models. However, it may be useful to answer a few questions about modelling fact v fiction. You may have read some conflicting answers to these questions from other sources, so here’s a nifty guide to sort the facts from the fabrications. Our models continuously learn, so even if you knew all but one of the below it’ll have served a purpose.
MODELS DIRECT FACTS
1. Commercial modelling is not the same as “high end” fashion modelling. Our job opportunities do not involve catwalks.
2. Commercial modelling is for anyone with the desire to succeed.
3. We have clients who are always on the lookout for pet models – commercial modelling is not just for humans.
4. We charge a small registration fee for new models. This is not uncommon and completely legal and models can choose to pay for just the one year.
5. We never charge for photos. We are not a “photo agency”. We are a government-regulated employment agency whose sole purpose is to find registered models work.
FICTION
- Models need to be a certain weight / height. Wrong! Plus size models have been in high demand for years, and they continue to be popular with our clients.
- We’re just a website. Uh-huh. We welcome anyone to meet us at our head office after scheduling a meeting.
- Agencies don’t really know their clients. We can’t speak for others, but we’ve built a client list because we vet every one of them, and they contact us for repeated bookings.
- Models must wait for their well-earned pay cheques. Again, some agencies will operate differently to us, but we can say for sure that all our models receive payment withing 5 working days after their work.
We think we’ve grown over the last 30 years or so because we’re totally transparent, and open to change. Our models know this, and we look forward to seeing many more new models growing with us. Now, that is a fact.
