Oh man – taking those first steps into male modelling can be daunting – but fear not, Models Direct is here to help you.
Yes chaps, preparing to put yourself forward to work in front of the camera need not be a stressful task, in fact, it is simply just a case of taking each step one at a time..
Step 1
Choose an agency to work with. Models Direct is a government-vetted, accredited and registered employment agency and has been a leader in the industry for over 30 years now. As such, it has a reputation for being able to supply a wide range of male models of all ages, sizes, looks and backgrounds. The vast majority of our clients – many of whom are leading brands or well-known companies or corporations – request everyday models from us. These are not necessarily people with the looks and body shapes of catwalk or fashion models, rather they tend to be normal men and women from all walks of life. Step 2
Read our blog pages and browse the reviews we receive from other male models to decide whether the paid, part-time work we offer is something you think you would enjoy. If it is, then, again, read on…
Step 3
Ask a friend or family member to take some pictures of you. Practise your poses first, find a great location that isn’t too busy and make sure the images are clear, sharp and well lit. You also need to ensure that we can see your whole face clearly. Fill in our online form and upload some of the images for us to see. Still keen to be a male model? Then keep going…
Step 4
Wait for a call from one of our friendly agents. They will explain more about how we work and what will be expected of you if you join Models Direct. They will tell you that you will be given an e-portfolio to maintain. This is where you can upload recent pictures for us to see and give us any relevant information, including about modelling work you undertake. We have to be able to be sure we are seeing recent photos of you. If we can see your pictures are up to date then we will put you forward for any assignments requiring someone of your description. And finally…
Step 5
If our client selects you from the shortlist we give them, your point of contact at Models Direct will call you with more information about the job. You will be told when and where it is, as well as what the fee will be. If you decide to accept the job, the agent will keep you informed about it as it approaches – and you can always call us with any questions you might have. After the assignment is completed we will ensure you are paid within a few days and we will ask you for your feedback on the experience.
And that really is all that it takes to get into male modelling!
