It’s difficult to put an accurate figure as the answer to the title question.
We work with the largest number of brands, all with different views and agendas, all with different budgets and visions. They are the decision makers when choosing clients, and sometimes their decisions are based on the all-important finances.
The question of how much a child can earn is perhaps not as important to either a child or parent as much as securing work in the first place. A parent would be as proud of their child for working as a model regardless of the pay cheque. That said, the rate of pay is obviously a significant factor for models of all ages.
We’ve been proud to recommend countless child models to our clients. At the end of their assignments, they’ve been presented with pay cheques ranging from £100 – £600 – sometimes for just a couple of hours’ work. It all adds to a child’s life experience, enhancing their confidence by working with other children and adult professionals.
Children often find working assignments in the school holidays a breath of fresh air. We wouldn’t recommend anything that hampers a child’s education, so earning some real money in the holidays is praised by parents. We know that some of our clients have busier times in the year, and therefore they might ask us for child models at particular periods. Parents must appreciate that we do have some last-minute-bookings, but we have the means and experience to fulfil any type of booking. Children can be a godsend to our clients, propelling themselves into modelling jobs at short notice – invariably, it means parents or guardians must be available as well to provide transport and be on set for support.
It would be insincere to say every child receives the top-end pay. However, some child and baby models really do receive large pay cheques for their work. Famous high street chains, supermarkets and fashion brands know that children are a crucial market. Children constantly grow and their interests, trends and habits change continually, meaning products must evolve accordingly to cater for the demand. Without models of a certain age, brands can’t market products as effectively. We need brands, and brands need us and our models – win-win!
It’s a fair assumption that an “average” child model might earn between £100-£200 for a days’ work. This is based on what we know a lot of our child models have previously earned. Smaller clients with smaller budgets might match this figure, and it’s fair to say larger clients might pay considerably more.
So, whilst having a pay cheque is indeed well deserved, it’s better for children and parents to know that we’ve placed countless child models with famous brands for well over 30 years. Have a look at the child reviews, which we love showing potential models and parents.
We look to welcoming your child into our modelling family.
