Let’s talk about your skin beauty regime during the colder months.
It’s December and here in the UK, the cold season creeps up so quickly. We’re feeling it and with sustained chilly temperatures, it’s not set to rise anytime soon. So, how can you feel some relief from the harsh weather conditions against your skin?
Whether you’ve got a baby model in our books, you’re a teen MD model or an adult or senior model, here are our Models Direct top tips for all you readers out there!
Use comforting cleansers
Your face needs a clean but it can be quite off-putting to do so during the cold season since your skin’s natural oils deplete. Use a creamy or oil-based formula to strike the balance right so you’re left with refreshed skin as opposed to that typically tight and uncomfortable winter feeling. Look out for cleansers that have minimal nasty ingredients. The less the better.
Rich moisturiser
Your skin will thank you for an intense moisturiser during the colder months of winter, but if you’re trying to avoid a greasy version, don’t worry as there are water-based and oil-free options.
If you’re finding that this isn’t helping, then try a hydrating mist followed by a hydrating serum. You can then apply your intent moisturiser and see if you still feel the same.
Keep going with SPF
You’d be forgiven if you think that sunscreen should only be applied in the summer. On the contrary, it’s needed all year round as the sun’s UV rays are always present and harmful regardless of our earth’s temperatures.
If you’re next to glass – sitting in the car, classroom or office – you can feel the sun penetrating through the glass screen. That’s because it is, and it doesn’t stop even when there’s cloud cover! Remember: SPF is a must. Every day!
We hope that these simple tips will help you, your little ones or big kids get through the cold weather with calm skin ready for modelling assignments. However, if you’re finding it difficult to manage, speak to your GP who can help.
Don’t be disheartened though as skincare clients approach our agency and present very varied requests which might include a need for real-life unhappy or irritated skin.
Our jobs board has seen a variety of skincare brands requesting female and male models, young and senior across different parts of the UK.
