Every day is a busy day here at Models Direct!
Our team members spend their time talking to those considering becoming models and those already working with us as male or female models.
They also liaise with the parents of our baby and child models, as well as the owners of our lovely pet models.
Much of their time is, of course, also spent finding work for those on our books.
This involves following leads, forging relationships with new and potential clients and responding to requests from our many, many existing clients.

Having been at the heart of the industry for over three decades now – and having placed so many models on such an incredible variety of assignments – we believe we have a good understanding of what our clients might be looking for in their models.

Our team of professional agents is highly experienced at matching the men, women, children and pets on our books with the clients and assignments that are right for them.
So what are our clients seeking in those they employ?
Well, firstly, they always give us a clear description of the model (or models) they are looking for to help them with their advertisement, campaign or other project.
They will let us know how old that person should be and perhaps what they should look like.
For example, they might ask for two female models, in their 30s, one with dark hair and one with red hair.
What it is worth noting at this stage, however, is that the vast majority of models our clients look for are “everyday” models.
These are models who look like ordinary, everyday people.
They don’t want catwalk or supermodels – they want models that represent the real members of the public they are hoping to appeal to via their marketing.
In addition, in most cases, previous modelling experience is also not necessary.
Our clients will be looking for people who are friendly, confident and socially at ease.
They want models who will listen to instructions from photographers and other crew members and who can respond accordingly.
They need those who work well in a team but are also comfortable stepping out in front of a camera alone.
Sometimes, our clients ask us for models with particular abilities – which is why it is important that you let us know if you have any special skills.
For example, they might require a gymnast, singer or dancer or someone who can ride a horse or motorbike.
They might ask for someone who can play tennis, football or cricket or someone with acting skills.
These kinds of requirements are incredibly rare but don’t miss out on the perfect job by not telling us all about yourself.
When our clients request a model (or models), our agents create a shortlist of suitable people or pets.
These are then sent over to the client who makes the final choice as to who they would like.
Here at Models Direct, we can offer them a strong selection of models to choose from, but ultimately they decide who to employ.
And what we always say to our models is that to be in with the best possible chance of being picked, make sure your e-portfolio contains the right information about you and some good, recent photos.
Jovita was chosen for a job with Sony and loved her first modelling experience.
