It is not long now until Christmas and here at Models Direct we are getting just as excited as everyone else!
But the reality for us here – and for others who work within the modelling industry – is that Christmas doesn’t come but once a year…
It can come at any time at all!
In the worlds of advertising and modelling, we are always knee-deep in the festive season – at least as far as the cameras are concerned.
As soon as one year’s Christmas trees and baubles come down, our clients are busy considering what to do for the following year’s festivities.
For many of them, Christmas is their most important time of year – this is when they hope to sell most of their products or at least attract our interest
And, therefore, the sooner they can start planning, shooting and getting their campaigns ready, the better.
This means that Models Direct can be approached for male, female, child and pet models for festive photo shoots as soon as early as February or March.
Christmas bookings take place all year round, including in the warmer months when our clients or their teams have to dress both models and sets to make it look like winter!
Yes, we have sent models along to shoots when they have worn brightly coloured jumpers beside roaring open fires when in fact the weather outside has been more suited to a day at the beach!
At this time of year, when Christmas is almost upon us, we do still get requests for models to take part in last-minute festive assignments.
Some of these may be for very quick-turnaround campaigns while others may be from clients seeking models for promotional events.
Promotional models help businesses and organisations to promote themselves at live events and these could, of course, include in-store or in-branch Christmas festivities.
Our models might be required to dress in seasonal or branded clothing and may be asked to hand out leaflets, Christmas goodies or other items to highlight a product or service.
And, very occasionally, we are also approached by clients who are seeking to make the most of this year’s festive lighting, decorations and other backdrops, ready for a very early start for next year’s Christmas campaigns.
So, if you do decide to join us – or if you are with us already – don’t be surprised if Christmas comes early for you next year!
One of the best things about modelling is that you never know what you will be doing next – and that is especially true where Christmas is concerned!
