Getting Winter Ready? How to Update Your ePortfolio to Reflect this Season

As the nights are drawing to an earlier close, winter’s a season that’s guaranteed to see temperatures drop yet welcome end-of-year delights to enjoy. Get those woolly hats out, pop on those touchscreen gloves and grab your thermos from the back of your cupboard because this season, Models Direct is requesting our lovely models to be winter-ready with our gentle seasonal reminder – to update your ePortfolio to reflect this magical season. How? Let’s see what our specialist coordinators recommend for models of all ages – yes, all of you who have baby models out there, child models, teens and those who are adults, seniors, and even those of you who have pet models!

Location, location, location [and props!]

Hunt for scenes that are winter-themed so your viewer instantly knows it’s winter-inspired. If you can’t get yourself to a snow-carpeted field, top giveaways are fireplaces, blankets, hot teas/coffees and winterwear, which moves us onto our next tip.

Layer it up with winterwear

To combat the icy blast and help elevate your ePortfolio for the bitter wind, take snaps of you or your mini-me in your fav winter gear – we’re talking scarves, coats, boots, ear muffs, the whole bunch.

You can pop a mini hat on your pet [if they’ll let you] or better still, have them enjoy their time indoors under a blanket with warm lighting and fav toys and snacks.

Capture winter festivals

Andy Williams, It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, might be ringing in your ears and that’s because the festive season just is! There’s a lot to enjoy not only indoors but outdoors too despite the chilly weather. Christmas markets, ice rinks, and winter light trails glow up across the UK. These are just a medley of what’s to come in winter.

If you can, try to snap these true-in-style winter moments and incorporate them into your ePortfolio to get clients to sit up and take notice of you!

Some dates to pencil into your calendars are:

5th-6th Dec: St Nicolas Day

8th Dec: Bodhi Day Buddhist holiday

12th Dec: Christmas Jumper Day

21st Dec: Winter Solstice Day

25th Dec: Christmas Day

26th Dec: Boxing Day

25th Dec – 2nd Jan: Hanukkah

Above all, enjoy your wintertime. Spend time with loved ones, family and friends, and don’t forget to capture wonderful moments to continue building your ePortfolio, your child’s or pets!
