You know how much we adore our pet models. Here at our MD HQ, new pet applicants who land on our side of the application form make all of our team rush to the nearest screen to see who’s our latest Star Pets addition.
We’re proud to encompass our human- counterparts who are a part of our diverse modelling agency. After all, we’ve been around for over three decades in the UK and have seen how the industry has shifted and flourished. A lot has changed and moved towards diversity and inclusion, body positivity and age positivity.
With the internet leading the charge, we also have animals becoming superstars. Pet celebrities such as cats Maru and Nala have the cutest poses that have been captured for the world to see! They’re also very popular in the digital world.
Maru’s a Guinness World Record holder for being the most-watched cat on YouTube, with a whopping 535 million views to date, whilst Nala has a worthy 4.5 million followers on Instagram. Just goes to show how much the world loves animals!
So, why are pets needed for modelling?
That’s a great question. The market for pet modelling is open because people love their animal companions and enjoy seeing them in commercials, adverts and other forms of media.
Pets are wonderfully charismatic. They can pose just like us humans, and although it’s momentary, they can evoke strong emotions in us, making them valuable for brand connection, relatability and user engagement. So, if you’re looking at your loyal furry friend or your fuzzy whiskered bundle of mischief, then you might be contemplating joining our MD team and getting them to not only be your pet but a Models Direct Star Pet. You’re at the right place.
We have had a wonderful array of clients approach us over the years requesting animals to feature in their marketing campaigns such as Pets at Home, Coco & Eve, Pet Lab Co, and Felix.
We’ve assembled some of our pet owner’s Pet Lab Co feedback for you to enjoy:
“My little French bulldog, Dudley had his first professional shoot yesterday for Pet Lab and Co thanks to Models Direct. The day was an amazing experience and Dudley was on top form. Any camera he came across, he looked at and loved being a part of the different shoots.
When I got the call a couple of weeks ago, I was so overwhelmed and pleased that Dudley had been picked. Charlie from the team was amazing and she helped with all my enquiries up to the day.
The studio was lovely and we had a lovely lunch provided. Dudley was given so many treats and it was safe to say he slept well last night after a long 8-hour day.
I cannot wait for the photos to go live of Dudley in November and I can’t wait for our next assignment.
Thank you Models Direct, you’re amazing and can’t wait for Dudley to continue working with you ️ #somuchlove” Alannah on Dudley her dog.
“Had a wonderful day with a group of cuddly dogs taking shots for a pet supplements company. There were lovely people on set from Altitude Productions and it was all really relaxed. The contact with Charlie at Models Direct was great in the weeks before the shoot. Thanks, J” – Dominic on his dog CJ
“I had signed my dog up with Models Direct and updated my profile every so often – for a while I did not receive any contact but then received a request for my dog. Models Direct called me regularly to ensure I was happy with the conditions of the shoot and was ready to attend with all relevant information, Charlie was great at responding and following up. I had a good experience all in all and so did my Dog J.” – Harjit on Toby the dog
“Great experience with Models Direct! This is the first time our little puppies stand in front of a professional camera and they really enjoyed the ‘work’. The surprise birthday party was fun as well and thank you for providing us with this opportunity.” – Lin on her puppies
