Your path to stepping on set and working with photographers and filmmakers starts with a little background work. We don’t recommend anyone joining any agency without knowing a little bit about them. Readers can peruse our background and values here. And please don’t be duped by agencies claiming they actively look for work, when in fact they charge models for photos and do little else. A reputable modelling employment agency looks for work on behalf of their models; some are “showcase agencies” – please read the differences between the two here.
Once you’ve done your research, you should decide on the right agency for you – and no one else. You may choose to join more than one, which is acceptable. Different agencies have different terms and conditions, but at the heart of any decent modelling employment agency is the desire to put forward the right models with the right clients.
