Commercial Modelling Success Stories and Real-Life Roles | Models Direct

Models Direct is bringing our latest blog to you about the world of commercial modelling. It’s all smiles, style and real-life roles here at our UK-based modelling agency, and we’ll fill you in on all the latest news revolving around this particular modelling avenue.

Male and female commercial models are seeing a high rate of campaigns heading towards them where clients from all industries are interested in booking them. Why? Commercial models focus on being more relatable and approachable for all kinds of audiences: young through to mature.

This modelling division is all about building a connection with people with big, charming smiles, a realistic sense of style, and natural looks and poses. Throw in some real-life roles to portray and you have commercial modelling in a nutshell.

No fuss and no strict requirements, just real people playing real professions and roles to convey a brand’s message across.

We’ll now head over to one of our favourite parts of our blogs: the reviews segment. Check out what our Models Direct commercial models have been up to by directly hearing about their experience.

Ashley (P667494) was hired by Castrol. He said:

“I enjoyed the experience, the guys made me feel welcome and I had practised and read up on the acting subject. The assignment involved being a Marine Engineer and explaining the problems I face in terms of legislation and profitability. It was a green screen acting part and I would recommend it to others who have not done this type of work. The crew made me feel welcome and although they had high standards of what they expected this did not create a stressful environment, the most pressure was what I put on myself. I think the talent industry is worth exploring like any other, I try and update my portfolio as often as possible but hopefully, after this assignment, I may get further work to help improve my CV.

I joined up purely to gain experience in something new and not to take it too seriously. Thank you talent management for this experience!”

Patricia Benn was hired by the Symphony Group. She expressed:

“Last week I had a wonderful opportunity to work with another colleague from Talent Management – Herb – and a delightful three-year-old and his parents. His father was in a wheelchair and the whole exercise was to produce photographs for a brochure promoting kitchens for people in wheelchairs. We started with ‘family group’ shots with Herb and I acting as grandparents. We all thoroughly enjoyed our session of playing snap and the photographer seemed pleased with the results.

This session was in a very impressive photographic studio. The next day I arrived at the Symphony management suite for a photo shoot of the kitchens to be promoted – met the person who had done much of the planning for this – himself in a wheelchair and had an amazing day demonstrating all the gadgets that would help independent living. The photographer and his assistant were so helpful and knowledgeable it was easy to follow instructions and the person who had planned the two days was very organised and ‘switched on’ – she seemed to know every dimension of each piece of equipment and furniture! Again – the support from the team at Talent Management was there if needed and everything went according to plan – thank you.”

Gary Greenslade (Z256946) was booked with Motability. He shared:

“As ever the day went very well and was quite seamless despite the very early start! The crew were very well organised and very welcoming, it was once again a great insight into just how much effort and planning goes into such a short presentation.

My short acting role was great fun, I’d like to say it was a high-octane stunt scene but in reality, I just had to pull up in my car, get out, shake hands with the Kwik Fit engineer and ask for a new tyre!  This all said, it didn’t matter, it was a great experience and I enjoyed it. Let’s just hope I did ok!”

From being a marine engineer to a grandparent to a customer of leading tyre, MOT, and car servicing retailer, Kwik Fit, the kaleidoscope real-world roles available through our agency are varied.  We like to keep it interesting for you guys!

There’s more longevity in the commercial world. Models are translated into print and online magazines, mainstream and digital media and TV. Shoots are more regular than as compared to time-sensitive high fashion models and fashion shows so there’s more of a flow of work with this kind of modelling.
