The music calendar is jam-packed with back-to-back festivals across the summer and year so music lovers of all genres can enjoy their style, their way with the huge selection of events. Once you’re all set and know where you’re heading, here are our top tips on how to capture the moments best with dynamic pics:

Choose your outfits beforehand – comfy, colourful outfits which you layer on or switch easily offering variety to your apparel.

Incorporate the festival theme – you can add popular festival props (glow sticks, sunglasses, hats, face paint) or you can include the stage, displays, installations and attractions to not only remember the day but for your viewers to enjoy.

Consider time and lighting – we emphasise a lot on golden hour as it provides a flattering effect which is a must-have to any festival snap.

Hand your camera to your friend – selfies are great but get a friend to take some images too. Anything you’re particularly after? Just let them know! Landscape, portrait, close-ups, edgy and funky angles – go ahead and experiment.

Be aware of the busy crowds and backdrops – keep your images as crowd-free and clutter-free as possible just so that the balance is right. Enough clues for your viewer to know you’re at a festival but without the heavy traffic of festival goers because the focus needs to be on you!
