Annie is a very experienced model and dancer and has done lots of assignments with Models Direct, her most recent with The Avid Seamstress in London – find out how she got on….

Images from recent shoot with The Avid Seamstress

“Yesterday I had another great shoot thanks to Models Direct, this time it was a photoshoot for a London based sewing company called the Avid Seamstress. As always, I was given all the necessary information beforehand from Molly, plus I attended a casting a few weeks ago to ensure I was right for the job, so the day went very smoothly. We shot lots of different looks over the course of the day, with brilliant direction given from the fantastic photographer, Iurana. The client Lisa was so lovely to work with and was even kind enough to give me a gorgeous bunch of flowers at the end of day. I’m really looking forward to seeing the photos!” – Annie

2 Day Assignment for the Friend Family!!

“We always love a shoot when they provide accommodation as it always feels like a mini break!”

Model Fee: £1,333

We were excited and a little nervous about this shoot. We knew it was a 2 day family shoot with all the family including our eldest daughter Olivia. We had packed up the car early in the morning as we need to be there for 9am as it was only just over an hour away this was one of our closets shoots. The friend family always likes to take more clothes than not enough and our car looked like we were going away for 2 weeks not 2 nights. We always love a shoot when they provide accommodation as it always feels like a mini break. Shaun and I were a little apprehensive about the shoot being two long days 9-5 and having 3 children to try and keep happy and smiling is always on our minds. These shoots are never easy but we are so lucky are children seem to taken to easily. We arrived at the lodge which was the location for day one it was set in the most beautiful country side, we were working with a photograph Nick his assistant Cody and Tanya Reed head of corporate communications for Pennon Group. Tanya and Nick knew exactly what they were after which is always great when we have a firm direction. Trying to get that perfect shot will always take time but once again the children did amazing, even getting complimented from Nick and Tanya. The day went by very quickly with children getting time out for snacks, lunch and a little bit of fun on the Ipads. Second day was a completely different day we were all super excited as we were going to a reservoir to do cannoning and boating something we hadn’t done before, that’s why this job is always so good your learning and trying new things all the time. We had a quick briefing and safety talk and it was go go go. I just kept hearing the girls laughing and having a blast it always brings us so much joy to see the children having fun and trying new experiences and we get paid for it !! Nick said he got some amazing pictures and it was a wrap. This was a fantastic shoot with lots of amazing memories.” – The Friend Family

Do you have a Model Family?

Working as a modelling family is a mixture of excitement and apprehension. As any mum knows if your going anywhere with your children you want them to be on there best behaviour.

This is no different on a photo shoot, so when your asking 3 of your children to stand up straight, smile, look happy  continuously while taking direction from the photograph as well it can be challenging.

Luckily, we work with Models Direct and have always been so well looked after, from lunches being put on for the children, to overnight accommodation, to letting the children have 15 minutes time out so they can chill, go on there iPad etc.

We have now had 7 assignments and I can’t believe how lucky we are my son says its all down to his fantastic good looks.

When I first signed up to Models Direct I was a little sceptical hearing stories of people paying thousands of pounds for pictures to be done because the agency they had chosen had asked them to do so then signing a 3-year deal and not getting a single job. When I spoke to Molly for the first time from the Models Direct agency she immediately put my mind at easy, she said she only needed photos that we had taken are self’s nice natural photos work the best, so the client can get a real feel for who you are and how you look in front of a camera. I told my children if we were lucky enough to get 1 job we would be extremely lucky.

Here we are several years later and now on our 8th job. We have managed to do so much with our extra money that has come in from our jobs, just little things like being able to spoil the kids a little, to a weekend away for the family to now having our garden landscaped and having a hot tub fitted.

My husband and I are so proud of our children and though its hard days working, keeping up with the photograph and the clients needs . We now would never look back and look forward to the next 7 assignments.

Extras Needed

If you want to brush shoulders with famous actors, spot yourself in a commercial, or amuse friends with anecdotes – How about extras work?

You have probably wondered if the people milling around in the background of a commercial, television program or film are hired actors or real people who just happened to be passing by. Well, in the majority of cases, they are supporting artists, known as extras.

As the film and media business grows into a thriving industry, a supply of professional supporting artists is needed. It is great fun, you get paid, you get fed, and you get to watch the movie stars at work!
